We are often asked to carry out a visual inspection followed by an assessment of the structural issues presented. Initial findings might indicate that further, more intrusive investigations are required, such as lifting floorboards and making trial holes to check the status of foundations, wall supports and joists, particularly if there is no reliable record information available.
We are able to call on the resources within the RSK Group to carry out specialist investigations and testing as required and offer remediation advice and services such as asbestos removal. When investigating historic and heritage properties, we have access to RSK’s Geosciences and Geophysics teams, which use technology to review and monitor building conditions without intrusive damage; for larger buildings and sites, we have colleagues who use unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) equipment to survey and efficiently report on large areas.
