Our team is often asked to provide pre-acquisition reports, feasibility studies and options appraisals (RIBA stages 1–2+).
This is a critical stage for any development project, particularly when the reuse, refurbishment or reconfiguration of an existing building is being considered. Through our experience of working with these types of structures, we can advise on works that will enhance the asset, providing the client with additional net lettable floorspace or betterment of the space available. We ensure the most suitable options are considered to optimise the design and return on investment. It is also a consideration for new build projects, adding the maximum value and lettable area, exploring options for layouts and services and considering buildability, potential difficulties and site constraints.
At this early stage, we think about how best to deliver your project safely, efficiently, on time and within budget, often to suit a variety of cases. A key to this is identifying and minimising cost and project risks at an early stage. We can liaise with other disciplines within RSK to produce a well-rounded set of proposals, identifying challenges, recommending solutions and setting out pros and cons for each option, to help inform your decision. Taking the time to consider technical feasibility, engineering challenges and financial implications at this early stage can often save on time, money and resources, adding value to your project.
